The Renegade, coated in ash and motor oil, steps out of his battered chassis, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with The Enforcer amidst the twisted ruin. High above, the smoke parts to reveal the scarred, but standing silhouette of the ancient basilica. They do not celebrate, nor do they lower their weapons. A silent, grim understanding passes between them in the twilight: they have sterilized the rot on this avenue, but the roots of corruption run much deeper.
